Kelly Thompson Jr

Kelly Thompson Jr., 76, of Stanton, Ky. departed this earthly life on April 26, 2025 at his residence.

Kelly Jr. was born on September 2, 1948 to the late Kelly and Dora Napier Thompson.

Kelly Jr. was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family and working on guns in his spare time.  He also had a green thumb and enjoyed being outside.  When sad times happened, Kelly liked to joke and see others smile.  He always had a trick up his sleeve and a contagious laugh.  In his latter years he began to talk to the Lord and knew who held tomorrow.  He will be loved and missed by all who knew him. 

Kelly is survived by His Wife; Delorse Watkins Thompson, Three Daughters; Lisa(Sean) Stough, Kellie(Jonathan) Farler, Miranda Thompson, One Son; Kelvin(Jessica) Thompson, Nine Grandchildren; Morgan Stough, Aiden Mosier, Kayla Farler, Dailyn Farler, Khloe Thompson, John Wyatt Farler, Jayce Farler, Kylan Farler, Harlee Thompson; One Great Grandchild; Douglas Stough-Nop, Five Sisters; Mary Strong, Noralee Combs, Fanny Jean Haddix, Judy Irene Combs, Mearl Spencer,  Three Brothers; Wendell Don Thompson, Ken Thompson, Frances Thompson, and a Host of Nieces and Nephews.

Kelly was preceded in death by His Parents; Kelly and Dora Thompson, Five Sisters; Mae Perdue, Jewell Baker, Charlene Strong, Shirley Haddix, Virginia Crabtree, and One Brother; McKinley Thompson.

Funeral Services for Kelly Thompson Jr. Will be held on Wednesday April 30, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, Kentucky with Robert Rice officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Thompson Cemetery at Stanton, Kentucky with Sean Stough, Kelvin Thompson, Jonathan Farler, Anthony Burden, Aiden Mosier, and Terry Paige serving as Pallbearers, and Wendell Don Thompson, Ken Thompson, Frances Thompson, Oscar Strong serving as Honorary Pallbearers.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday April 29, 2025 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
