Viola Feltner

Viola Feltner, age 92 of Jackson, Kentucky departed this earthly life Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at the Breathitt Health and Rehab Center in Jackson. Born on May 15, 1934 in Jackson, she spent her life rooted in the community she called home.

Viola was a mother and homemaker whose life also included many years of work as a clerk and manager at Jetts IGA and Home Grocery. She was a member of Haddix House of Miracles and found joy in the things that meant the most to her: family, cats, flowers, and church.

She is survived by her sons, Garry Feltner and C. Dean Feltner (Brenda); her daughters, Beverly Feltner (Buddy Cooper), Donna Hawse, Karen Back (David) and Robbin Shouse; her grandchildren, Michael Feltner, Corie Raleigh, Morton Lewis, Lance Feltner, Sandi Haddix, Ty Shouse, Logan Back, Chase Shouse and Alex Feltner; her great-grandchildren, Gracie Minix, Lucas Raleigh, Al Lewis, James Lewis, Lindon Hawse, Quinn Feltner, Addie Feltner, Sterling Feltner and Sawyer Shouse; and a host of brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Tolbert Feltner; her son, Terry Lynn Feltner; her son-in-law, Mark Shouse; her grandson, Daniel Hawse; and her parents, Rev. Robert Fugate and Iona Cornett Fugate.

Visitation for Viola is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Breathitt Funeral Home with her service to begin at 2:00 PM with Darrell Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Jackson Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Viola Feltner will be remembered for a life centered on home, work, faith and the people she loved. Her years reflected devotion to her family and steady service in both her household and the workplaces where she was known. Her memory will remain with all who knew her.
