Zetta Spicer, 77, of Dayton, Kentucky, passed away on June 13, 2026. She was born on November 27, 1948, in Canoe, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Letcher and Ethel Spicer; siblings, Benjamin Edward Spicer and Wanda Faye Spicer; nephews, Michael Anthony and Roger Stephen Spicer; niece, Wanda Jackson Siler; and her grandson, Nicholas Scott Napier.
Zetta leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her memory: her daughter, Zetta Loretta (Johnnie) West; grandson, James Anthony (Tessi) Napier; and granddaughter, Anastasia Marie (Brian) Smothers. She is also survived by her brother, Harris David Spicer; sister, Florence Irene (Lewis) Brandenburg; 10 great-grandchildren: Jacob, Ruby, Isabel, Arley, Arianna, Aleczander, Genevieve, Emilia, Beatrice, and Nicholas; nieces and a nephew, as well as many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her.
Zetta retired in 1991 from Duro Bag Manufacturing in Covington, Kentucky, before relocating to Florida to be close to her brothers. She lived for many years on Anna Maria Island, Florida, where she proudly called herself the “Island Lady.” She later returned to Kentucky but continued to maintain strong ties to both places.
Above all, Zetta cherished her family. She loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and considered her daughter her greatest accomplishment. She enjoyed spending time with loved ones, relaxing on her front porch, and capturing memories in photographs.
Services will be officiated by George Dana Spicer at Watts Funeral Home Jackson, Kentucky on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Visitation will be held from 11:00a.m. until 1:00p.m., with services immediately following. Her final resting place will be at Spicer Shouse Turner Cemetery.
