Paul Watkins, of Wolverine, was transported to the Kentucky River Medical Center shortly after 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, after a single-vehicle accident on Frozen Creek.
According to police reports, Watkins was traveling east on Highway 1812 when he lost control and crossed the centerline. He crossed the roadway and collided with the hillside. His extended-cabin pickup truck flipped and skidded several yards down the highway on its top near the intersection of Highway 1812 and Tyra Branch.
The truck came to rest in the eastbound lane and nearly slid into the creek.
A crew from Breathitt-Wolfe Ambulance responded to the crash and transported Watkins to the hospital, where he was treated.
Mac’s R & J Repair removed the vehicle, and the roadway was reopened.
