Theresa Short, age 63, of Lost Creek, KY passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY due to a brief illness. She was born September 6, 1962, at Campton, KY. She was preceded in death by her father: Elisha Short. Her mother: Beulah McIntosh Short Halcomb. Her sister: Anna Hudson. Two brothers-in-law: Franklin Quicksell and Melvin Hudson. She is survived by two sons: Kelly Combs (Lydia) of Lost Creek, KY and Eric Combs of Whick, KY. Three sisters: Wilma Quicksell of Jackson, KY. Sherri (Wayne) Burton of Ellijah, GA. Tammy (Mike) Thorpe of Beattyville, KY. Six grandchildren: Andrew Combs, Aaleigha Combs, Drake Combs, Weston Combs, Chandler Combs, Gabe Combs. Special grandchildren: Madison, Makailyn, Rosa, Hunter, Chris, and Logan. One special great granddaughter: Raelynn Tate. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Hensley officiating. Burial in the McIntosh Cemetery, Roark Mountain, Jackson, KY. Visitation will begin on Friday at 11:00 am until time of service. Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
