Ronnie Begley, 77, of Jackson, Kentucky departed this earthly life on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington.
Born on November 26, 1947, in Wooton, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Noah Begley and Rose Melton. Ronnie was the widower of Pearl Dotson Begley who passed away on November 2, 2024. He was also preceded in death by: brother, Bobby Gene Begley; sisters, Wilma Dotson and Joyce Couch; son-in-law, Clyde Gerall Prater.
Ronnie was a retired mechanic who found joy in the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and cherished time spent with his family.
He is survived by his sons, Eric Begley (Lucinda) and Ronnie Begley Jr. (Linda); daughters, Charlene Prater (Earl), Ronda Purdon (Ronald), Deloris Fugate (Eddie), and Kathy Dotson (Randy); sisters, Emma Opblinger and Lorraine Hoskins; and special friends John Hoskins, Kelly Noble Jr., and Aldo Combs. He also leaves behind twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Ronnie will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the Breathitt Funeral Home with a singing service at 7:00 PM led by Johnathan Watts & family. His funeral service will be held Monday, March 31, 2025 at 1:00 PM with Calvin Ray Spicer officiating. Burial will follow in the Begley Family Cemetery at Athol with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Ronnie’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
