Police, fire, and ambulance crews responded to the report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle on Good Friday in the parking lot of the Jackson Village Shopping Center.

According to witnesses, a woman was walking through the parking lot near Walmart on April 3 and was hit by a vehicle.

Emergency Services in Hazard received numerous calls reporting the incident, and when officials arrived, they located Rhonda Geering, 60, of Highway 1110, lying in the roadway.

She was alert and talking, but in pain from the collision, which may have caused her to hit her head.

According to sources, Geering was crossing the parking lot and was hit by a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee, reportedly driven by 59-year-old Bradford N. Bryant, of Whetstone Road in Wolfe County.

Geering was transported to the Kentucky River Medical Center for treatment by Breathitt-Wolfe Ambulance Service.

The Jackson Police Department is in charge of the investigation.
