Traffic was slowed on Highway 205 near Mudlick Road after a single-vehicle commercial vehicle crash on Christmas Eve.
Vehicles passing the scene reported the crash at 2:30 on Wednesday afternoon after a truck, trailer, and bulldozer left the roadway and ended up in the creek.
Drivers in the area reported that a red Ford L9000 and its trailer had “remained connected” and were still upright in the creek bed. The truck sustained damage after striking several trees along the creek bed before coming to a stop.
The John Deere 450G Turbocharged Crawler bulldozer did not fare so well and was severely damaged after it left the trailer and rolled over at least once in the small field near the crash site. The cab of the dozer received severe damage.
The sharp curve has been the scene of numerous accidents in the past. Officials from the Kentucky Department of Transportation are currently planning to straighten and improve the roadway as part of the next round of improvements to Highway 205.
Information at the scene indicated that it was owned by Napier Logging of Highway 205.
Ambulance crews were dispatched to the crash site, but the driver refused treatment or transport.
The vehicle, the trailer, and the dozer were removed from the stream.
