There is one less place to eat in Jackson after a local eatery announced its closing last week.
The owners of the Kountry Kitchen Restaurant, located on Main Street in Jackson, announced on November 5 that the Jackson dining experience would be closing.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, owners Ben & Nicka Ford announced that “we are closing our doors for good here in Jackson & we will be relocating to Glasgow, KY in the near future.”
According to the owners, they planned to close the business on Friday, November 14, but their staff were able to locate other jobs, which the Fords supported. They announced that they had served their last meals and would not be reopening.
The Fords opened The Jackson Grill at the old White Flash 2 building in 2021. They relocated their restaurant to the former Alpine Dairy Bar site at Campbell Circle and changed its name to the Kountry Kitchen in August 2022.
Fire destroyed the building and business in January 2024. They reopened on Main Street in the former Kelsey’s On Main location and operated until they closed in early November.
“To everyone who has ever walked into our building, whether to eat or work, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!” they posted. “Thank you for the memories, the trust, the love, the support, & most importantly, the friendship.”
