The public is invited to share their opinions at two special public hearings scheduled for April 30.
The meetings are scheduled by the Jackson, KY Revitalization and Resiliency Plan Committee. The committee is seeking input on proposals for the open spaces created by the demolition of flood-damaged houses in the city.
The meeting will allow area residents to make suggestions, hear ideas, and share visions of potential plans for the open spaces created by the Federal and State Buy-Out programs.
The Jackson City Council has discussed several options, including tree projects and additional parking, at recent meetings and is now seeking additional public suggestions.
The Meeting will be held at the Breathitt County Extension Office Conference Room on Thursday, April 30, with session one from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. and the second session from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
The meetings are open to anyone interested in the future of the City of Jackson and its green spaces.
