Four Indicted for Over $76,000 in Back Child Support

The Breathitt County Grand Jury met on December 9 to hear several cases, including five charges against four individuals who allegedly failed to pay their child support as ordered by the courts.

Indicted for non-payment were:

Jason Pennington, 41, of Vires Fork Road, was indicted with one count of Flagrant Non-Support based on testimony from a representative of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.  According to the indictment, Isom “persistently failed to provide support of a minor child, accumulating an arrearage of $33,676.48,” which is a class D felony. 

Pennington was also indicted on one count of Flagrant Non-Support for a second child based on testimony from a representative of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.  According to the indictment, Pennington accumulated an arrearage of $28,360.46, which is a class D felony. 

Bail was set at $500 cash for each case, and a court date was set for December 9.

Marinda G. Ritchie, 59, of Cherry Blossom Drive in Louisville, was indicted with one count of Flagrant Non-Support based on testimony from a representative of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.  According to the indictment, Isom “persistently failed to provide support of a minor child, accumulating an arrearage of $15,808.55,” which is a class D felony.  Bail was set at $500 cash, and a court date was set for December 9.

Brian Isom, 30, of Denver Lane, was indicted with one count of Flagrant Non-Support based on testimony from a representative of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.  According to the indictment, Isom “persistently failed to provide support of a minor child, accumulating an arrearage of $10,919.00,” which is a class D felony.  Bail was set at $500 cash, and a court date was set for December 9.

Jimmy Johnson, 49, of Highway 1812, was indicted with one count of Flagrant Non-Support based on testimony from a representative of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.  According to the indictment, Johnson “persistently failed to provide support of a minor child, accumulating an arrearage of $3,776.00,” which is a class D felony.  Bail was set at $500 cash, and a court date was set for December 9.
