Chelsea Marie Cornett

Chelsea Marie Cornett, 84, of Jackson, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Lee County Care and Rehabilitation Center. 

Chelsea was a retired schoolteacher. She was raised in the Pentecostal church, which she faithfully attended throughout her life whenever she was able. She also served as a former assistant pastor at Full Gospel Deliverance Church. Chelsea loved studying the Bible, teaching Sunday School, attending church, and working in her flower garden. Her deep faith, love for education, and commitment to God and her community touched many lives over the years. 
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Iona Cornett Fugate. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Edward Fugate and Charles Ray Fugate, and two sisters, Edna L. Oaks and Betty Jo Collins. 
Chelsea is survived by her husband, Lenox Cornett Jr.; her son, Dennis Cornett; brothers, Robert Fugate Jr. and Fred C. Fugate; sisters, Viola Feltner, Lucy Pendelton, Brenda Miller, Sandra Fugate and Glenda Back. She also leaves behind a beloved granddaughter, Breanna Cornett Jackson and great-granddaughter, Amelia Lane Jackson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
 Visitation for Chelsea will begin on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Breathitt Funeral Home Chapel, and her funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM, officiated by Yolanda Gail Anderson. Chelsea will be laid to rest in the Cornett Family Cemetery on Spicer Branch of Canoe. Pallbearers will include Dennis Cornett, Robert Fugate Jr., Fred Fugate, Brendon Miller and Tom Collins.
 Chelsea will be remembered for her devotion to her faith, her family, her students and the quiet strength and kindness that defined her life.
